The Lubbock County Medical Examiner’s Office on Wednesday released the cause and manner of death for Katrina Castillo, 20.
Castillo was found dead Monday in the 4200 block of East 2nd Street. The M.E. said the cause of death was “multiple sharp force injuries,” and the manner of death was homicide.
The M.E. did not say what kind of weapon was used to cause the sharp force injuries.
The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday announced that a “person of interest” was arrested for an unrelated charge. The person of interest was not listed by name. The case was described by LCSO as a murder.
Castillo’s car was found by investigators on Tuesday evening near 50th Street and Bangor Avenue. When asked about the car, LCSO said “We don’t have anything further to comment….”
Castillo’s mom posted on Facebook Wednesday, saying in part to friends and family, “All your posts, comments and memories [are] helping me stay alive.”
