A federal grand jury on Wednesday indicted Demetrius Spence, 50, for bank robbery.  Spence was accused of the March 1 armed robbery of Wells Fargo Bank at 1215 University Avenue.

That same grand jury also indicted Spence for the June 25, 2018 armed robbery of Regions Bank, 3017 West Seventh Street in Fort Worth.

In the Lubbock robbery, a police report said, “It was determined [the suspect] had entered [the bank] and passed a note to [a bank teller] demanding money from him.”

The police report said he demanded the note back once he took money.

Police located Spence about four hours after the robbery and arrested him.  Police at the time said Spence was located at the Greyhound bus station “with a bus ticket going out of town in hand.”

Spence remained in the Lubbock County Detention Center on Wednesday.
