LEA COUNTY, N.M. (NEWS RELEASE) -
The following is a news release from New Mexico State Police:
On June 7, 2018 around 11:30 a.m., New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal vehicle crash on US 62/180 at mile marker 66, west of Hobbs, in Lea County.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle driven by Zachary Ryden (23) of Lamesa, Texas was traveling eastbound on US 82/180 when his vehicle crashed into the rear of a semi-tractor trailer, also traveling eastbound. Mr. Ryden sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the semi sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
This crash remains under investigation with no further details available.
