LPD Investigating Monday morning shooting in Central Lubbock

The following is a news release from the Lubbock Police Department:

Lubbock Police were called to the 2200 block of 14th Street, Monday, October 1st at 2:49 a.m., for reports of an alarm down. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Covenant Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. However, shortly after arriving, the victim’s injuries were downgraded to non-life-threatening.
Through the initial investigation, and after speaking to witnesses in the area, it appears the victim was in an altercation in the 2200 block of 14th Street, before leaving the area on foot.
Detectives with Lubbock Police Department’s persons crimes unit are actively investigating.
