LPD says one killed after shots fired in North Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Police Department responded to a shots fired call in North Lubbock just before 9:00 p.m. Friday night.

According to LPD, one person was dead. A specific address for the shooting was not given by police, but it was in the area of North University Avenue and Regis Street.

The following is a press release from LPD:

The Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit is currently responding to a shots fired call in the 2500 block of Loyola Street. The shooting continued on North University. One person was struck and is deceased.

N. University will be closed for several hours. Drivers are encouraged to find an alternate route.

The original call for service was received at 8:37 p.m.
