Lubbock Fire Rescue was battling a blaze in Central Lubbock on Thursday. [Nexstar staff]

LUBBOCK, Texas– Lubbock Fire Rescue was responding to a structure fire in Central Lubbock on Thursday.

Reports of the structure fire came in just after 11:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of 25th Street.

Our tower camera confirmed that thick black smoke was coming from a residence in the area.

A photojournalist was headed out to the scene.
