A Lubbock man told police last week someone assaulted him and cut off his penis. The story was not entirely true.
LPD released a police report Tuesday on the incident. Officers were called to an apartment in the 5600 block of 48th Street on the morning of August 16.
According to the report, officers were told, “He was cut with a knife and … his penis was cut off.”
“[He] told me he had sex with [another man] before he was assaulted,” the report said. “EMS located [the man’s] penis in the kitchen…”
Once the man was taken to University Medical Center, officers questioned the man further. He then changed his story.
“The injuries were self-inflicted,” the police report said.
The man’s name was marked out of the police report, but also he was not charged with a crime. So even if the report did contain his name, EverythingLubbock.com would not have published it.
The police report did not list the man’s medical condition nor did it say if doctors were able to reattach the appendage.
The police report also did not describe motive for the self-inflicted injury.
Messages were left for UMC and LPD. If more information can be provided without violating medical privacy then this story will be updated.
