LUBBOCK COUNTY, Texas - The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of Wesley Lance Harvey, 28, for abandoning or endangering a child. His arrest was related to the fire that killed four children overnight.
After releasing the initial statement, LCSO provided an update to say the suspect is the father of three of the four children. They also said Harvey lived at the residence.
The following is a statement from LCSO:
Wesley Lance Harvey date of birth XX-XX-1990 was placed under arrest for unrelated misdemeanor warrants on 11-8-18 at approximately 5:00 am. While continuing the investigation an additional warrant for Abandoning or Endangering a Child was obtained for Wesley Lance Harvey. Wesley Lance Harvey is currently in the Lubbock County Detention Center awaiting arraignment on all charges. There were no other injuries because of this fire. We are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire and any additional criminal charges that are applicable. We have no further comment at this time.
