Frenship High School, Frenship Middle School and the Ninth Grade Center were shortly placed on lockout Thursday afternoon because of “suspicious activity” in the area, Frenship ISD said.

The Wolfforth Police Department received reports of a man with a rifle near the Villa of Wolfforth at FM 179 and CR 7200.

As a precautionary measure, the district was alerted and went on lockout around 1:40 p.m.

Officers spoke to witnesses who said they saw a man with a firearm.

After reviewing security footage, officers determined a man had a large stick, not a gun, Wolfforth PD said.

Campuses lifted the lockout around 1:50 p.m. Thursday.
