The family of a Bailey County murder victim released her name and a photo on Friday afternoon.
The family said Oralia Granados was the victim of a stabbing overnight. The Texas Department of Public Safety had not yet officially released the name, but DPS, Bailey County and Garza County officials have released a basic timeline of events.
Lucio Gollo Camacho, 46, of Muleshoe was arrested and charged with evading, resisting arrest, and abandonment of a child. Charges of capital murder and kidnapping were in the works according to multiple law enforcement agencies.
Federal officials also put an immigration hold on Camacho according to his jail booking sheet.
Officials said Camacho stabbed a woman in Bailey County in the 1400 block of County Road 1038. He then put her in his truck and headed for Post in Garza County.
Officials said Camacho also took the woman’s 3-year-old child with him. The woman’s brother called 9-1-1 just after midnight.
The Garza County Sheriff said Camacho approached a deputy at about 1:30 a.m. while he was covered in blood. Camacho tried to take the deputy’s weapon, then got back into his truck.
Garza County deputies then began a chase which ended in Southeast Lubbock at about 1:30 a.m. Granados’ body was found in the truck.
The child was not hurt, and the family said the child has been placed with the biological father. Child Protective Services confirmed that the child was placed with another family member.
Granados had three children – the oldest being 17 and the youngest being age 3.
The family said Camacho was Granados’ current boyfriend. The family said no one knew what prompted the stabbing and everything else that followed.

DPS released the following statement late Friday afternoon:
The Texas Department of Public Safety Texas Rangers today responded to the scene of a reported aggravated assault/kidnapping in Muleshoe, Texas.
According to preliminary information, at approximately 12:05 a.m. the Bailey County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call, and the caller advised that a male subject had stabbed a female, and then left the residence with that female victim as well as her 3-year-old child.
At approximately 1:55 a.m., Garza County Sheriff’s Office received a report from the Giles W. Dalby Correctional Institution in Post, Texas, stating that a male – later identified as the suspect, Lucio Gollo Camacho, 47 years old – had just assaulted a correctional officer and attempted to take the officer’s weapon.
The suspect was reported to be driving a 2005 Ford pickup truck. The Garza County Sheriff’s Office located the Ford pickup truck traveling westbound on US 84 and attempted to stop the vehicle. The suspect evaded law enforcement in the vehicle, travelling into Lubbock County. The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office joined the effort to stop the vehicle. The vehicle finally came to a stop near US 84 and Loop 289 in Lubbock. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center. The deceased female victim was located in the suspect’s vehicle along with the victim’s uninjured 3-year-old child. The child was released to Texas Child Protective Services.
This is an ongoing investigation conducted by the Bailey County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers. Additional information will be released as needed.
