LUBBOCK, Texas — One person was dead after a shooting Tuesday night.
At approximately 11:54 p.m. Tuesday, the Metropolitan Crimes Unit responded to the 5100 block of 69th to reports of shots fired, according to a tweet from Lubbock Police Department.
The tweet said one person died.
Police later provided an update and said, “28 year-old Timothy Bailey has been ID’d as the deceased in the overnight shooting.”
“This appears to be an isolated incident & there is no ongoing threat to the public,” police said. “Initial info indicates this began as an argument between Bailey and another group.”

Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit Investigates Late-Night Shooting
(LUBBOCK, TX) – An investigation is underway by the Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit following a late-night shooting that left one person dead.
Lubbock Police Officers responded to reports of shots fired at 11:54 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, at 5166 69th street.
Upon arrival, officers located 28 year-old Timothy Bailey in the parking lot. Bailey, who was shot multiple times, was transported to Covenant hospital by EMS where he was pronounced deceased.
Preliminary information obtained through the initial course of the investigation indicates the shooting appears to be an isolated incident which began with an argument between Bailey and another group of individuals inside the bar. At this time, it appears after the individuals were asked to leave, the verbal altercation continued outside and that is when shots were fired.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
