Lubbock Police responded to a wreck involving two cars overnight Friday at the intersection of 19th Street and Slide Road.
Officers said one person was seriously injured in the accident. Our photojournalist at the scene reports one car traveled up over the curb.
UPDATE: Late Friday morning, Lubbock Police provided the following update.
Just after 2 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019, Lubbock Police officers responded to a crash with injuries at 19th Street and Slide Road involving a black Nissan Altima and white Lincoln LS. The Nissan was traveling east bound in the 5200 block of 19th St. crossing Slide Road when he was struck by the north bound Lincoln LS. Preliminary investigation indicates the Lincoln LS ran a red light.
The driver of the Lincoln LS left the scene on foot and was not located. The driver of the Nissan, Aaron Weseman, 21, was taken to Covenant Medical Center with serious injuries. Detectives from the Major Crash Unit are investigating the crash.
