One person suffers serious injuries in accidental shooting Monday night

LUBBOCK, Texas — One person suffered serious injuries after an accidental shooting Monday night, the Lubbock Police Department confirmed to EverythingLubbock.com.

The shooting happened on the 1700 block of 22nd Street, according to LPD. The victim has been transported to University Medical Center.

Just after 9:00 pm, LPD provided an update on Twitter.

“Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 1700 block of 22nd Street. Upon arrival, one victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound,” LPD said. “Victim was taken to UMC with a life-threatening injury. No one is in custody. METRO is on scene investigating.”
