LUBBOCK, Texas — Lubbock Police Department responded to the a shots fired call at the 1700 block of East 1st place, according to a tweet from LPD,
LPD says one person is dead. Police later provided an update, identifying the victim as Darrean Lee Nichols.

In the tweet LPD Metro Special Crimes Unit is on the scene and investigating.
People are asked to avoid the area.
