Lubbock Police arrested Adrian Herrera, 17, early Sunday morning for reckless driving.

A police report said Herrera was spotted “doing doughnuts” in the area of 23rd Street and Avenue P. 

“DPS advised the vehicle was travelling southbound in the 2300 block of Ave P travelling approximately 70 MPH,” the police report said. “DPS followed the vehicle as it entered the southbound lanes of Interstate 27. DPS advised the vehicle was travelling over 100 MPH at this time.”

The police report said, “[Herrera] placed the public in immediate danger due to his speeds and blatant disregard for other motorists.”

Herrera was able to post bond to get out of jail on Sunday.  The charge against him was described as a class B misdemeanor.
