Lubbock Police on Tuesday announced that officers arrested a teenage girl for a Christmas Day stabbing that nearly killed a 23-year-old woman

Police were called to Club Snow in the 1700 block of East 4th Street in the early morning hours.  Passion “Monea” Burtraw has been stabbed multiple times.

Burtraw survived but she and her supporters said she was so critically wounded that she technically died twice.  Burtraw spoke to KAMC and EverythingLubbock.com on Monday.

On Tuesday, police said, “Through the investigation, Lubbock Police officers arrested a 16-year-old female for aggravated assault in connection to the December 25th stabbing in the 1700 block of East 4th Street.”

“The juvenile was arrested this morning. This case remains under investigation,” police said.

Burtraw said there had been a verbal dispute between her and her attacker.  She credits an Army Private who was on leave for saving her life.

Burtraw said she had been stabbed 17 times. Video of the incident went viral on social media pages.

Because the suspect is 16 years old, police have not released the name.
