LUBBOCK, Texas — On Wednesday, the Texas Department of Public Safety announced that the Seagraves police officer who was shot on Monday evening was released from the hospital.
According to the initial press release from DPS, the officer tried to pull someone over for a traffic stop on Monday evening in Seagraves. After a short pursuit, gun fire was exchanged between the suspect and police officer leaving both injured.
In the most recent statement from DPS, they said the suspect is in stable condition and remains in the hospital.
Neither the name of the officer or suspect has been officially confirmed by authorities yet.
DPS said the Texas Rangers continue to investigate the events of Monday night.
