Sex offender on the run from El Paso, captured in Lubbock

EL PASO, Texas(PRESS RELEASE) – The following is a press release from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office:

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance from the community in locating Shannon Callahan.

On April 19, 2019, Callahan was released from the Rudd Intermediate Sanction Facility Unit in Brownfield, Texas. He was scheduled to arrive in El Paso, Texas on the same date and notify the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Parole of his arrival in addition to reporting to the halfway house located at 1700 Horizon Blvd. Callahan never arrived and a parole violation warrant was issued.

He is currently on Parole for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration and is a registered sex offender for the offense(s) of Criminal Sexual Conduct 3rd Degree/Victim is at least 14 years of age but less than 16 years of age out of the State of Minnesota, the victim being a 14-year-old female.

His last known location was the Greyhound bus station in Lubbock, Texas.

5:25 p.m. UPDATE – The following is a press release from the Lubbock Police Department:

Callahan has been taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals and Lubbock Police Department patrol officers. Callahan was located at an apartment complex in the 1700 block of 9th Street and was arrested without incident.
