The Texas Tech University Alpha Phi chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, the national collegiate Hispanic honor society, is hosting Lubbock’s Spanish Day celebration.
1 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 18)

The Alpha Phi chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, in collaboration with the Llano Estacado Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish & Portuguese, is hosting a panel discussion in celebration of Lubbock Spanish Day about the global importance of the Spanish language.
The panel will be moderated by Gayle Jeffers, president of the Alpha Phi chapter. Participants on the panel include Rossy Lima, visiting assistant professor in the Department of Classical & Modern Languages & Literatures; Carla Millares-Forno, a doctoral student in the Department of Agricultural Education & Communications; and Maria Rodriguez, a student in the Department of Classical and Modern Languages and the School of Music
