Texas Tech University proves online prowess with newest rankings

LUBBOCK, Texas (NEWS RELEASE) – The following is a news release from Texas Tech University:

Texas Tech University continues to be on the national stage by being recognized for its commitment to providing a world-class online education. Guide to Online Schools recently released its 2019 Best Online Colleges lists, and Texas Tech was highly ranked in three categories: No. 2 for best online colleges in Texas, No. 6 for best online colleges for bachelor’s degrees and No. 9 for best online colleges for doctoral programs.

“Texas Tech University is committed to providing a high-quality education to students from anywhere they reside,” said Justin Louder, associate vice provost of Texas Tech’s eLearning & Academic Partnerships, a division of the Office of the Provost. “Texas Tech has developed excellent, high-demand online and distance-learning programs that meet the needs of tomorrow’s learners today. If a student wants to complete a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree via distance learning, then they can do that through the online and regional site-based programs offered by Texas Tech.”

To be considered for the best online colleges in Texas ranking, universities must be regionally accredited and offer at least one fully online degree at the bachelor’s level.

For the best online colleges for bachelor’s degrees, universities must offer at least five fully online degrees at the bachelor’s level with programs that cover at least three subject areas.

For the best online colleges for doctoral degrees, universities must offer at least two online doctoral programs in at least two subject areas and must have an annual research expenditure.

Texas Tech’s eLearning & Academic Partnerships offers more than 80 fully online degree programs and seven regional teaching sites across Texas.
