LUBBOCK, Texas — Littlefield Police released information on Wednesday about an incident Monday afternoon.

Police said a man and his wife were helping a woman by mowing her yard when two juveniles stole their pickup truck.

“The man had just unloaded his lawn mower when the juveniles drove off in his truck,” police said.

Police said two officers saw the pickup truck speeding and running a stop sign. The truck nearly hit the police unit, according to a press release.

“Officers … attempted to stop the truck, but the driver refused to pull over,” police said. “The truck struck multiple trees, a structure and a metal pole before coming to stop in 500 block of W. 2nd Street.”

The juveniles got out of the truck and ran off. They were caught and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and evading.  One of them was also charged with possession of marijuana.

Due to their age, police did not name them publicly.
