LUBBOCK, Texas — One person was killed and another seriously injured in a crash Thursday night, according to the Lubbock Police Department.

Another person suffered minor injuries, according to LPD.

LPD said the crash was first called in just before 7:45 p.m. and happened at the intersection of 50th Street and Avenue A.

The Major Crash Investigation Unit is responding to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 50th Street and Avenue A. One person is deceased, one person sustained serious injuries and one person sustained minor injuries. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area.

The original call for service was received at 7:43 p.m.
