LUBBOCK, Texas — On Thursday, the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a car chase that started on 42nd Street and Avenue Q around 2:40 p.m.
According to a statement from LCSO, deputies attempted to make a traffic stop of a car with two occupants. When the car refused to stop, deputies pursued it.
The statement went on to say the car came to a stop on 81st Street and Avenue J where the driver began to flee on foot. After locating the driver, both he and the passenger were taken into custody.

At approximately 2:40 PM on May 2, 2019, deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on 42nd and Ave Q, on a black BMW occupied two times, when the driver refused to stop and deputies pursued. Vehicle came to a stop on 81st and Ave J, where the driver fled on foot. The male driver continued to evade on foot and was located in a backyard on the 1400 block of 81st and taken into custody.
The female passenger was also taken into custody. Both subjects were transported to the Lubbock County Detention Center without incident.
