Update: Lubbock Police Called to Report of Deadly Crash Sunday Morning

The following is a news release from the Lubbock Police Department:

Accident Investigators with the Lubbock Police Department are currently investigating a Sunday morning fatal crash.

At approximately 10:20 a.m., LPD received several calls that a crash had just occurred in the area of 19th Street and Vicksburg Avenue. Officers arrived on scene and located two pickup trucks that were involved in a collision.

One person was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another person was transported by ambulance to University Medical Center with serious injuries.

Accident Investigators were called to the scene to begin an investigation. At this time, all lanes of traffic for 19th Street between Utica and Slide are shut down. Investigators expect the closure to last for about one more hour.

LPD will release additional details once more information is available.
