A grand jury on Tuesday indicted Greg’Quendrikk Taycarl Moore, 21, of Lubbock for manslaughter.

Moore was charged in the July 2015 shooting death of Jaylon Brown, age 19 at the time, at the Park Meadow Villas in the 2500 block of Webber Drive.

Brown died a few days after the shooting and his friends and family indicated to a news reporter at the time that the shooting was accidental.  A 13-year-old was also shot and wounded in the same incident.

“He was a good guy in the community,” resident Raymond Johnson said of Brown in 2015. “He was a friend to the community.”

Court records said Moore “did then and there recklessly cause the death of an individual … by displaying a loaded firearm.”

Moore was arrested in November for a long list of allegations including drug possession and organized crime.  He was been held in the Lubbock County Detention Center since that time.
