The body of a Texas teen was found in a landfill Wednesday, two days after she was reported missing.
Katylynn Cargill, 14, was last seen alive while walking her dog in Bedford, Texas, around 6:20 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2017. Her body was found later found in the Republic Services Arlington Landfill.
Bedford Police released the following statement after receiving positive identification of Katylynn’s remains:
“We are shocked and saddened with this tragic news. We will pursue every lead, leave no stone unturned, and bring the person or persons responsible for Katylynn’s death to justice.”
No official cause of death has been released. The investigation is still ongoing.
