Storm-related fatalities confirmed in East Texas; 2 children killed in Angelina County

On Saturday, the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that two children were killed when a tree fell on top of a vehicle in Pollok. 

According to Captian Alton Lenderman, the family was driving along Dewitt Hinson Road just off Highway 843 when the tree fell on top of their vehicle.

It crashed into the back seat killing both an 8-year-old and 3-year-old. 

The parents were not hurt and were able to get out of the vehicle.

They were treated for their injuries after EMS arrived. 

The children have been identified as Dilynn Creel, 8 and Jace Creel, 3.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help the family. 

Dilynn was a second-grade student at Central Elementary in Pollok.
