The Texas Department of Public Safety on Monday said a two-vehicle crash killed a 19-year-old. The crash happened Friday morning nine miles north of Snyder along U.S. Highway 84.

DPS said Tristan Michael Towns of Joshua, Texas, which is south of Fort Worth, was driving a car north on the highway.

DPS said Towns veered onto the right shoulder, over-corrected and crossed the median.  His car hit an 18-wheeler going the other way, DPS said.  Towns was pronounced dead at the scene.

DPS said the other driver, Todd Cameron Lacey, male, 47, of Abilene, was treated and released from Cogdell Memorial Hospital in Snyder.  Both drivers used seat belts, according to DPS.
