Three people were killed Thursday night in a fiery crash in Odessa.
Odessa Police responded to the crash before 9:30 Thursday night in the area of Yukon Road and Tobosa Avenue.
Police said a Dodge Challenger was headed westbound on Yukon Road at a “high rate of speed” and collided with the back of a van, according to a written statement.
Police say both vehicle separated and caught fire.
Three people inside of the van, who have not been identified, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the statement.
All four people in the Challenger were transported to Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the investigation is ongoing, and “More information will be released as soon as it becomes available”
The crash in Odessa marks the 10th fatality in the Permian Basin this month and according to information from local law enforcement officials.
