“We continue to see record numbers of cases,” said Katherine Wells, Lubbock Health Director. Wells said the cases are “tied to unstructured gatherings.”

She said if someone hosts a gathering, keep the size of the group small, wear masks, don’t share food and drinks and keep a distance. She said 18-24 is the age group where most of the new cases have recently originated.

The City of Lubbock Health Department on Tuesday evening reported a total of 9,075 cases for Lubbock County. The health department also reported 6,449 recoveries and 105 deaths.
