The New Deal Lions are returning to a place they haven't been since their coach Jason Ybarra was a player on the team. New Deal eliminated Hawley with a 4-3 win over the Bearkats in game two of the best of three series in Snyder for a trip to the Dell Diamond in Round Rock and an appearance in the state semifinals. The Lions will face the Woden Eagles who beat Douglass in two to get to Round Rock.
Marino Ramirez pitched a complete game and received a good deal of help offensively as the New Deal Lions crushed the Hawley Bearcats 10-1 in game one of a best of three series.
