Five-star guard adds Texas Tech to Top 4

LUBBOCK, Texas — Texas Tech men’s basketball is now in the running for one of the top recruits in the 2019 class.

Five-star guard RJ Hamilton, who was ranked as the No. 5 recruit in the 2020 Class according to Rivals, announced Tuesday on Twitter he would forgo his senior season and reclassify into the Classo fo 2019.

The 6-foot-5 Little Elm High School product also added Texas Tech to his Top 4 along with Kentucky, Kansas and Memphis.

This comes a day after Chris Beard signed a six-year contract extension with Texas Tech.

Hampton has previously played AAU basketball with Texas Tech signee Jahmius Ramsey.
