Tottenham edged Manchester City 1–0 on Sunday in a game that featured a historic milestone for Spurs star Harry Kane, as he notched his 267th goal for his club to set its all-time scoring record, moving ahead of legend England legend Jimmy Greaves.

Kane is the Premier League’s second-highest scorer this season with 17 goals, behind only Manchester City wunderkind Erling Haaland (25 goals).

After Kane’s historic night, he took to Twitter to celebrate the achievement in a series of tweets that have gone viral. “A moment I’ll never forget #267,” Kane tweeted with a video of him reacting after scoring the historic goal. Kane also tweeted a picture of the scoreboard with the crowd’s reaction with the cheeky caption “one season wonder,” and a video thanking all the fans for their support.

“Hi everyone, just here on the pitch after a really special night,” Kane began. “To break the all-time leading goal scorer record for Tottenham Hotspur is just a dream come true … No better place to do it than in front of our home fans and to win the game against a really tough side and a really important three points. … Just a really special night and a big thank you to everyone back home and [the fans] in the stadium and to everyone who’s helped me to get to where I am now and have supported me. I’m really grateful and just really proud, so thank you and I’ll see you soon.”

With the victory, Tottenham moved to 12–3–7 on the season and fifth in the Premier League table, trailing Newcastle United by one point for the Premier League’s final Champions League spot despite having played one more match.
