TODAY: A mild afternoon is in store after a chilly start in the 30s and 40s. Highs today will range from about 73° to 75°, with Lubbock reaching about 75°. The sky will stay clear and the winds will be light, turning from the north to a southerly direction. This evening, temperatures will bottom out in the 50s.
THIS WEEKEND: Easter weekend will be very warm, thanks to a ridge of high pressure overhead. That will keep the sky clear, with temperatures climbing to the upper 80s and low 90s each day. The wind will be breezy in the afternoon hours.
NEXT WEEK: The next weather system looks to impact the South Plains at the beginning of next week. Temperatures will cool from the 80s Monday to the upper 60s Tuesday. There is a increasing chance of rain starting Monday night and continuing through the day Tuesday.
