KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 5.13.19.
TODAY: Monday will be warm in the mid to upper 70s, up to 77° in Lubbock. The sky will be partly cloudy, with a 20% chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop around 3-4 pm, favoring the southern South Plains. These storms will likely be non-severe.
TOMORROW: Sunshine and 80s return on Tuesday. We will start in the 50s tomorrow morning, and warm to 81° in Lubbock. Winds will be light from the south up to 10 mph.
LOOKING AHEAD: The middle of the week is trending dry and warm, with sunshine and 80s through Friday. But, on Friday we are tracking the potential of thunderstorms and possible severe weather. There is still a fair amount of discrepency between forecast models, so the chance remains low. We will keep you advised on this developing forecast.
