LUBBOCK, Texas — It was a nice end to the workweek with temperatures in the 70s and a mix of sun and clouds. While high temperatures were below average today, tomorrow they’ll be about ten degrees above average. Tomorrow we’ll rise into the upper 80s and some 90s with sunshine throughout the day, however, some areas to the east of I-27 have the chance to see some showers and storms develop during the afternoon hours. Some of these storms could be strong as this region is in a marginal risk for severe weather.
While the Rolling Plains will possibly see some rain tomorrow, there’s more chances for showers later on in the week for the South Plains. Monday looks to remain dry during the afternoon hours, but late evening and overnight there is the potential for some storms to develop. Isolated to scattered showers and storms continue into Tuesday. Wednesday expect a mix of sun and clouds, with mostly sunny conditions, although a few isolated showers developing are possible. Isolated to scattered showers return on Thursday and Friday there is the potential for isolated rain.
