KLBK Midday Web Forecast June 19, 2017

KLBK Weather

Summer begins Tuesday night at 11:24 pm. The first full day of summer is on Wednesday and it will certainly feel like summer time. The high heat will return to the area under a ridge of high pressure. The wind will be at 10-15 mph, so that will try to help us out in the afternoon. The UV Outlook is going to be in the extreme category, so stay safe while spending time outdoors. Lubbock will get to 101° for the high. That will be our tenth triple digit day this year.

Things will be getting hotter by Thursday afternoon. There will be clear blue skies with 10-15 mph wind. But the big story is that we will break another record high. The current record is 106° and Lubbock is going to reach 107°. So, as of Thursday, we’ll be in the double digits for triple digit heat this year. The first two days of summer will be making sure that we know it’s the new season.
