Happy FINALLY Friday everyone! It has been another cool and overcast day across the South Plains with highs sitting back in the upper 60’s and low 70’s. Throughout the remainder of this afternoon and this evening, we will see some more substantial shower and thunderstorm chances that could bring some severe weather to the region. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the majority of the South Plains under the Marginal Risk Category with large hail, damaging wind gusts and an isolated tornadoes as possible threats. Storm chances will continue on and off through the beginning of next week but thankfully the severe weather chances will be lower over the weekend. Just make sure to keep your umbrellas handy and stay weather aware! Temperatures will be slow to get back to average, moving into the mid-70’s tomorrow and the low 80’s on Sunday.
